Hey, did you guys know I was on TV?

attack of the show

Co-writer best friend Nick Hurwitch and I have been doing quite a bit of book promotion since April when So You Created a Wormhole first hit shelves. A lot of that has concerned interviews, a few signings, and a lot of social media.

Oh, and we were on TV that one time.

Back in July, we got an email through our publicist asking if we would be available the next day to be on G4’s “Attack of the Show.” Seems they were doing a bit about time travel and one of the producers had enjoyed our book. Less than 24 hours later, we were in the studio, doing an interview with Baratunde Thurston about time travel.

The whole thing originated from an earlier event called LeetUP. It’s a traveling nerd culture-type event that includes live podcasting, video games, stage performances — lots of coolness. It’s also organized by our pals over at iam8bit, and we managed to make some books available for the event back when the first one happened this spring. Through that connection, our book got into the hands of AotS, as it was involved with LeetUP. Apparently, it made an impression.

Anyway, the experience was extremely cool. In total it was incredibly fast and slick, a well-oiled machine. AotS is all done live, so we spent a few minutes in makeup, a few minutes sitting in a green room, and then we were on stage. It was over in about 10 minutes. The whole experience was surprisingly quick and lots of fun.

I’ve embedded the video of the interview below. That’s all for today.

P.S. LeetUP is touring this fall. Definitely worth checking out. Here’s the info.
